The Irish beat Purdue on Saturday afternoon..we watched it my in-law's...and then we went to our favorite little place, Sliders, to watch the Bama game...they even let me watch it on their big screen:) I was so excited and they all got a kick out of me cheering for the Tide! Shellie's Bridal Shower
Shellie, Kay's daughter, had her bridal shower Sunday, at "The Farmhouse" It's an old house that a lady bought and totally renovated..it is beautiful! It reminded me so much of Pawpaw George & Mawmaw Sam's old house in Gadsden..just the way it was decorated and all...there is a barn across the house that they are planning to revamp as a reception hall..the owner , Deb, has only had one wedding here so far...and she asked me to take some promotional pics for her:) so I asked Shell to be my "model" and we are going back out there this Sunday to do a photo shoot and bridal setting...pics to follow...the lovely ladies above are Kay, Shellie, and oldest daughter Sheila!
It's a GIRL!!!!!!

Photog Excitement
Last week or so, I got hired as a photographer with the picture lady..so she called me last night about working a bridal show next month...she wondered if I would be interested..huh...YEAH!! Going to the bridal shows were some of my favorite times in the wedding process...it is at a fancy hotel in dowtown South Bend...its a pretty hefty fee to have a booth...but like Teresa said it's an "investment" ...if you book one wedding because of the show...you have made your money back! So we have a wedding on Oct 4, Oct 25, and the first show is that sunday on the 26th...and we have another big one in January...I am very excited to be a part of all of this is so much fun!

Vera Bradley Fall Outlet Sale!!!!!
Just in case anyone would like a certain Vera Bradley handbag, the fall outlet sale will be coming up on October 2-5. While the pattern style is usually limited to retirees...any style of bag is usually available...if there is something that anyone is hunting for..just let me know...prices are usually at least 50 % off...so I will be traveling to Ft Wayne, Indiana (the birthplace and headquarters of Vera Bradley) at least once that weekend to buy some goodies!

Bruce & I with the famous coaches!
I found these today..they are from a couple of weeks ago when we went walking at the campus...Bruce is sitting on the bench with Knute Rockne...and I with Frank Leahy...two of the best coaches to be at Notre Dame...there was a scrimmage that day in the stadium which was only opened up to the students..we tried to get in but they wouldn't let us in without a pass..haha...

Notre Dame vs Michigan!!
We had a great weekend to have such bad weather! Bruce and I went to the pep rally and ended up finding 3 tickets for the big game on Saturday. Notre Dame playing Michigan is the equivalent to the Iron Bowl, considering we are about a half hour from the Michigan state line. So we called Bob and told him we had a ticket, and that was his birthday present (his b'day is Sept. 24) We went to the pep rally, got to hear Lou Holtz speak, and saw the 1988 National Championship team! Lou Holtz was like Bear Bryant to Notre Dame...he had an amazing career and it was really motivating to hear him talk about his love for the school! We got up early Saturday morning and had breakfast at Macadoo's, a little Irish resturaunt that is known for their biscuits and gravy, and this southern girl loves some biscuits and gravy! We finished their and headed to pick up Bob...then we went on to the stadium ...we parked and and a shuttle took us up to the stadium..and then we went to see if there were any tickets left to buy...luckily there was and we got one for Billie , Bob's girlfriend, and we walked around the campus checking everything out..it was so much fun! even though the weather was yucky..everyone was so pumped up about the big game...we finally got Billie there and we headed into the stadium..we got to sit together..and it was a blast! Notre Dame scored 21 points in the first few minutes ....it had stopped raining but as soon as the second quarter started...the rain came in and never stopped...but it didn't stop the game lol...and even the Michigan fans stuck around till about the fourth quarter...the final score was 35-17...so it was worth it ..even in the rain..to see Michigan get beat ! GO IRISH!!!!

Here Come the Irish!
Friday was the first Notre Dame pep rally! It started at 6, so we got there early to make sure we got a ticket..it was free..but you had to present the ticket at the door. Well everyone had the same idea as us, because we got there at 4 and there was already a line of about 200 people! It was not bad though..the weather was beautiful and we met some really nice alumni while waiting..there ended up being a ton of people there by 5 when they opened up the ticket booth..but we ended up getting very good seats..everyone was so excited and you could just feel the adrenaline in the room...Notre Dame had a really bad season last year..but all their fans seemed very optimistic..including the head coach Charlie Weiss..he gave an awesome speech..there were some alumni players that spoke..and the class of 1953's national champions sat a few rows in front of us..Bruce had never been to a pep rally there...and of course I hadn't..so it was really a cool experience...and even though we didn't go to the game..we felt like a part of it...we will be there this weekend when they take on arch rival Michigan...it should be interesting !
